1. Sponsor Bonus (Referral Bonus)
Description: The Sponsor Bonus is a one-time bonus awarded to an existing member when they refer a new member to join the MLM network. This is usually given as a percentage of the new recruit’s initial investment or the purchase of products. It’s a direct incentive for bringing new members into the system. Example: Suppose John refers Mary to join an MLM program where the entry package is $500. If the Sponsor Bonus is set at 10%, John will receive $50 as a reward for referring Mary.- Scenario: John refers 5 people, each buying a $1,000 package.
- Sponsor Bonus: 10% of $1,000 = $100 per person
- Total Sponsor Bonus: 5 x $100 = $500
2. Pairing Bonus (Binary Bonus)
Description: The Pairing Bonus is specific to binary MLM plans. Here, members have to build two teams: a Left and a Right leg. Whenever a member successfully balances a pair (i.e., one new recruit on each leg), they receive a Pairing Bonus. The bonus is usually calculated based on the weaker leg’s volume. Example: Alice has 500 PV (Point Volume) on her left leg and 300 PV on her right leg. If the company provides a Pairing Bonus of 10% of the weaker leg, Alice earns:- Pairing Bonus = 10% of 300 PV = 30 PV (converted to a dollar amount as per the company’s rules).
- Scenario: Bob recruits 3 members on the Left leg and 3 on the Right leg, each with 100 PV.
- Pairing Bonus: If each pair gives a $20 bonus, Bob earns 3 pairs x $20 = $60.
3. Matching Bonus
Description: The Matching Bonus rewards members for the earnings of their downline members. It incentivizes leaders to help their recruits succeed, as they earn a percentage of their team’s bonuses. Typically, the Matching Bonus applies to the Sponsor or Pairing Bonuses earned by downline members. Example: David sponsors Sarah. Sarah earns $1,000 in Pairing Bonuses. If David is entitled to a 5% Matching Bonus from Sarah’s earnings, he will get:- Matching Bonus = 5% of $1,000 = $50.
- Scenario: If David also has two other recruits (John and Lisa) who each earn $2,000 and $1,500 in Pairing Bonuses:
- David earns:
- 5% of $2,000 = $100
- 5% of $1,500 = $75
- Total Matching Bonus: $50 + $100 + $75 = $225.
- David earns:
4. Level Commission
Description: This is a commission structure where members earn bonuses based on the sales or recruitments made by their downline members at various levels. This incentivizes members to grow their network deep by supporting their team. The percentage of commission decreases as the levels go deeper. Example: Suppose an MLM company pays the following Level Commissions:- Level 1 (Direct recruits): 10%
- Level 2: 7%
- Level 3: 5%
- 10% of $500 = $50.
- 7% of $300 = $21.
- 5% of $200 = $10.
- Total Level Commission: $50 + $21 + $10 = $81.
5. Rank Advancement Bonus
Description: Members earn bonuses when they achieve specific ranks within the MLM system. Ranks are usually determined based on personal and team sales volume, recruiting new members, or achieving specific targets. This bonus is a reward for consistent performance and leadership. Example: Suppose an MLM company has the following ranks:- Bronze: $1,000 team sales = $100 bonus
- Silver: $5,000 team sales = $300 bonus
- Gold: $10,000 team sales = $500 bonus
- Rank Advancement Bonus = $300.
6. Infinity Bonus
Description: The Infinity Bonus rewards top-performing members who have reached higher ranks. It allows them to earn a commission beyond the standard levels, often down to infinite levels within their downline, but usually only after a certain depth (like after Level 5). It ensures that top leaders continue to benefit from deeper levels of their organization. Example: If the Infinity Bonus starts at Level 6 and gives a 1% bonus on all sales volume beyond that level, then:- If a top-level distributor has $50,000 in sales from their downline beyond Level 6, they earn:
- Infinity Bonus = 1% of $50,000 = $500.
Putting It All Together: Full Example
Let’s say Emma joins an MLM company and recruits 4 members (A, B, C, D):- Sponsor Bonus:
- Emma earns 10% of each recruit’s $500 package.
- 4 x $500 = $2,000; Sponsor Bonus = 10% of $2,000 = $200.
- Pairing Bonus:
- She places A and B on the Left leg, C and D on the Right leg.
- Each pair gives her $50, so she earns $100.
- Matching Bonus:
- If A earns $500 in Pairing Bonuses and Emma gets 5% of that:
- Matching Bonus = 5% of $500 = $25.
- If A earns $500 in Pairing Bonuses and Emma gets 5% of that:
- Level Commission:
- If A recruits E (Level 2 for Emma) who buys $300 in products, Emma earns 7% of $300 = $21.
- Rank Advancement Bonus:
- Emma achieves the Bronze rank with $1,000 in team sales and gets a $100 bonus.
- Infinity Bonus:
- Emma reaches the rank where she earns a 1% Infinity Bonus on all sales beyond Level 6.
- If her downline sales beyond Level 6 are $20,000, she earns:
- 1% of $20,000 = $200.
- Sponsor Bonus: $200
- Pairing Bonus: $100
- Matching Bonus: $25
- Level Commission: $21
- Rank Advancement Bonus: $100
- Infinity Bonus: $200
- Total = $646
